Lucinda Green: I knew my daughter Lissa should ride when I saw her smashed up in a fall

It was only after Lissa had been airlifted to hospital following a terrible fall, unconscious with multiple fractures to her face and body and struggling to breathe, that Lucinda Green finally decided that she would support her daughter’s dream.

As Lissa prepares to ride at Badminton this week for the first time — 44 years after her mother won there for the first of a record six times — it is clear it has not come easily, despite inheriting excellent genes from her mother and Olympic gold winning father, David Green.
